For many people, the answer is no. They see the price tag for a truly successful life, and suddenly they’re hesitant and reluctant.
I think Dr. Dweck should be careful with words like "Fourth, we value process here, and we reward process." This sounds a lot like fixed mindset thinking, and could easily be mistaken for fixed mindset thinking by a fixed mindset person. We don't value process per se. Rather, we value the exploration and accomplishments that leads to a new process. No "process" is sacred, only growth is sacred. A growth mindset doesn't start out looking for "the rules", although they definitely observe the rules when they're there for a good reason. A fixed mindset obsesses over "the rules", because these are extrinsic ways to value work done (they're "the straight A's"). A growth mindset obsesses over the work itself, and the rules (at least the right ones) help make the work easier to do. The work is secondary to the "process."

4. Burn your ships. Having a fixed mindset comes from believing that if we’re talented and smart, things should come easily to us. Furthermore, if there’s a great deal of effort required, we think we must not have what it takes to succeed. Or we might conclude that someone is treating us unfairly. In either case, we don’t demonstrate the level of determination that studies show is required to successfully reach a goal.
In this case, try to relax your mind – your subconscious will work it out. In fact, we are at our most creative when we are not actively looking for a solution. For this reason, “sleeping on it“ is actually a very helpful strategy when you are not getting anywhere.

You can do that by repeating written affirmations out loud or silently to yourself twice a day for 5-10 minutes each time.

how to be successful
Success comes from a commitment to plan for and persevere during INEVITABLE crises and failures that come with entrepreneurship. To get tough in business, have a vision, mission and goals to which you are committed to fulfill. They give strength and inspiration when you fall.
